RAE Bedford, 3x3 Test Building, January 2019

Intro
For a while now we have been wanting to do this site and had supposed to have visited around Christmas time, that never happened, eventually we got around to it. With the larger building under renovation, the smaller one was our target.

The Building
The building we ventured into was one of RAE Bedford's smaller facilities which looked lie it was for testing engines.
The RAE use of the site started in 1946 and was decommissioned in 1994. Royal Aircraft Establishment Bedford used the nearby former airfield that was then built upon with an extension of the runway for testing. The site we explored was home to the two former wind tunnels.
The site now has become a business park with both leisure and industrial facilities.

The Explore
After a lengthy amount of time on buses we found ourselves speed walking through the security gate and up to the first building. After some climbing we had found a way in. Once inside we headed to an office to unpack our cameras and tripods and other such stuff. This was when my camera decided to die, the mirror internally had stopped moving and wanted nothing to do with functioning. This meant I have had to borrow ExplorerX's camera which also means a severe lack of photos...

There's something about this building which reminds me of Portal 2
