Afternoon folks,

So it seems Healings Mill is currently surrounded by about 6ft deep water on all sides right now... Who knew, eh? Probably should have guessed that really with the weather in the past few weeks, hey ho. As a relative newbie to this exploring lark (compared to the rest of you), I've had a few successes recently and was keen to try some more, so with advice and encouragement from Mikeymutt, I set out to do a solo explore of Healings Mill.
But that'll now have to wait for drier weather, however all was not lost...

Across the road from the Mill is some other derelict buildings, which, from the front, are very well secured.
I have no idea what the building is; I'm guessing it used to be some kind of social club / local pub maybe?

Has anyone here been in, done it, seen it, know what it is, or know anything about it?

From the look of the decor inside, it's very dated, but equally it doesn't appear like it's been empty all that long? Access was surprisingly easy, so either it's not completely abandoned (??? Ooops!)
... or I'm very late to the party and missing something here?!
On that note; the upstairs looked like it was still lived in, to some extent, and I'll be honest, gave me the creeps and I did pussy out in the end. Perhaps with a second person (It's funny how the mind works when you're alone) and my headtorch, I may have ventured further...

Can anyone enlighten?

Without a doubt though, the best thing about this place was the DJ booth old turntables!

The cereal was still in date, the washing up was done, the clock on the wall still ticked and had the correct time, the 2020 diary on the shelf had writing in it on todays date and the phone was still plugged in! (So was the one in the bar downstairs!)

Back downstairs;

Both accesses to the cellar below the bar was open, but by this point I wanted out, and without a torch, I left the cellar for next time! ;)

Have a great week guys,
Fluffy x

Ps;

Whilst we're in the area... Has anyone done Abbey School lately...? I had a quick walk round the perimeter, but not much luck.

Well, I'd never expected to see in there. I think the venue closed a couple of years after the mill (2007?), but unlike the offices, stores and staff facilities has never been part of the Allied Mills (Healings) complex. Hope this helps, Fluffy.
The view from the top of the mill, with the sun setting over the river is great. All the best for a good but dry explore!

That's awesome man, thank you very much! As soon as the River levels drop, I'll head back.
