Managed to do some recon a while ago. Noticed that security was quite active and their German Shepard's wouldn't have looked out of place in Mad Max, not to be deterred we found an entry point, it was getting quite light so we bugged out and went back yesterday. Access is a bloody comedy story itself, thus not one for here..

Once we'd secured entry we made our way straight to the Circle of Lebenon and the Egyptian Avenue. Bearing in mind it was quarter past dark O'Clock and the place is quite atmospheric (as you can see). I have to say it was one of the most spooky places I've explored.

It's much bigger than I expected and I've got to say I was getting very freaked out by noises around.

Sorry about the photos, I'm still new to all this taking good detailed shots lark. Any tips welcome. Anyway, please enjoy.

Excellent pics, the place looks great in these night pics. This is a place I'd love to go and have a look around, but wouldn't have the guts to go at night  This one reminds me of the ones on the continent and some of the american ones as well. Perfect for a horror movie like KA said.

Cheers,

:) Sal

It has bene used in loads of horror films, including a Geri Halliwell video! :pWhen the hurse with 'Ginger' in a wreath goes past.

Although why you didn't go in the day and get the guided tour is beyond me!!

Very interesting report, with some spooky pictures!
You mentioned Security -so is this place closed to the Public during the day too?

Lb:cool:

P.s. -the Egyptian Avenue looks cool -did ya come across any Mummys (or Daddies?):mrgreen:

I have been on the day and I found the guided tour crass and disrespectful, the woman who thought she owned the cemetery was rude and it was far too rushed, along with not being able to wander where I wanted to go..

Plus someone said that there was no way anyone would be able to get in there at night....

TBH, i like to see pics of places both night time shots and day time ones. It gives a different perspective and view even looking at the same place both day and night. They look a lot different. Some places look atmosperic in the day, others at night, and some in both sets of pics.

just my opinion tho lol.

This is somewhere I've been wanting to visit for years. Didn't realise it was generally closed to the public though! :(
Seriously amazing place. Loved seeing your photos, AM. Excellent stuff! :)
