I spotted and opening on Friday and had a quick scout inside but as it was a busy street outside and i had no torch and nearly flat batteries in my camera i postponed the full explore untill saturday.

Went in with tompski and was surprised at how much was actually left in there..

The pub has only been closed a few months so not as much decay as i would have liked but it was interesting from a point that this pub was my local at one point..

i`m sure 3 months from now it will look completely different wheather renovated or not.

Here`s the pics.

Nice work chaps!I cant believe how intact it is for saying where it is situated:)

I think its the first time i've been in a pub and not bought a pint!

As far as I know there has been a Red Lion in this part of the city since the start of the 20th century, most likely earlier. The original building was demolished and I think is roughly where a road stands today. The new Red Lion was built in the early 1960s and was going strongly in the 1990s as a family pub with decent levels of custom.

Like with Saigon Ob this explore held personal merit as I had many childhood memories here.

Sadly in recent years it changed hands many times gained a reputation as a rough and unpleasant pub. The smoking ban, as well as competition with cheap supermarket lager has resulted in the pubs closure. It was recently sold by the brewery and its likely it'll be demolished for more housing.
