This is my very first report so i started with something small!
I spotted this riding down the A5 on my scooter near rugby, It has a sign in it saying its a car park well I assume it used to be a petrol station before that maybe? just by the design any hoo heres the pictures any suggestions let me know, any questions then feel free to ask these are my some of my first ever DSLR photos...

By the way its in the middle of no-where so It probably explains why its derelict now after all who would want to park in the middle of no-where!

You are right in your assumption it has indeed been a petrol station , the pipes are vents to let vapour out of the underground tanks.
there are a fair few old petrol stations along the A5 and i'd imagine there will be a few more at the Cannock end of it now the M6 toll is going.

It would have been for long distance lorry drivers to park overnight.

Definitely a petrol station - on Google earth, you can see the outline of the island where the pumps used to be. There's another similar site on the other side of the A5, which is even more derelict. The one in your pictures was probably used for overnight parking for a while after both sites had closed.
Judging by the prices on the conversion chart, it looks like they closed in the early 90's!

We all have to start somewhere and well done for starting with something that hasn't been reported before.

the site opposite is actually a small courier firm so I dont know how old that photo is but its not there now
and thanks bones!
