This is in a woods local to me. The story behind the woods is that it use to have a boating lake.
As for the little hut I've no real idea as for it's use.
If any body has any ideas please fell free to share.

Odd brick hut with concrete plinth on floor. Yes that is me with my flashgun.

The boating lake, (more like a swamp). Just to give a fuller picture.

Could I hazard a guess at a pump house? cant really tell from the photo, is it oily in there? is there a hole in the roof/wall for an exhaust or low down for pipe work, if its a single plinth it might be for a ram pump, just a thought. :)

It's tiny, I can't stand up in it and I can look over the top.
I'll nip down later and take some more informative shots (less arty farty).

Is it a brick shithouse?;)

For really really vertically challenged.

Anyway as I said I would.
Some more pic to show it a bit clearer.
On closer inpection there are no holes in the roof or walls.

The plinth, is has got mounting bolts.
what I don't understand is, the lake has a outflow but no visible inlet. I have never known it to dry up.

The lake in the stark light of day.

That's a real puzzle mate, obviously there was some sort of machinery in there, there could be an inlet /outlet in the floor, under the leaves etc. I'd put money on it being a ram pump i.e a pump with no moving parts, just relying on the water's own pressure

any fish in the lake ?

Building.

First question, is that a rust coloured tree in the first pic or some sort of vent pipe?

If you can give a FlashEarth location it may assist in the identification.

I'd hazard a pump of some sort. Not sure for what purpose though. Sort of like this?
