Started as a monastery somewhere in the 15th century.
After being heavily destroyed it lost its purpose as a monastery,
and with the rebuilding it became its new live early 1600's.

Offcourse the history is very rich...too much to tell..
Nice to tell is that in the light of the socialism the castle was transferred in to 'the property of the people' in 1945.

Now its is abandoned for quit a few years.
Work started to renovate the castle, but ended again due to a lack of money.

OMG  there is no way this can be left derelict, this is one amazing building, I hope it gets put to some good use, and not left to decay...
Great photos there Bart :)

nice report and great pics as awalys Bart, I cant believe that buildings like this should ever be left empty, society should find a use for them, even if it is like a 'living' museum of our heritage and past.
