The Borscht Belt is a colloquial term for the mostly defunct summer resorts of the Catskill Mountains.
Since a long time it was the favourit holiday destination for the jewish people from the cities,
but since the 1980's many hotels and resorts a left abandoned because many people have their holiday elsewhere.

I've seen some pictures on Opacity of another hotel in the same area which looked very interesting, the decor looked a bit like the hotel in The Shining.

I was thinking about The Shining too, even though it doesn't look much like it, oddly enough! :eek:
Great bowling alley. Love the pic of the bowling shoes in the racks. :)
