When i came across some pictures of this place years ago i had no clue i would one day visit it myselve.
It was at the end of a beautiful day that we walked to the bushed towards the buildings of what once was a huge psychiatric hospital.
Build in the 1880's and since 1992 it was slowly closed down until 2003 when the last part finally closed the doors.
A big fire in 2007 seriously damaged the building as you an see in the pictures.

We just did a small part of the hospital due to the day that was almost at its end,
but i'm glad i finally seen it myself.

Excellent stuff! Everything in the US of A always seems bigger, we get pigeons-they get vultures!!

I've said it before and I'll say it again. As awesome as your picture and locations are, you seem to go for the 'photographic' approach, which is nice, but doesnt have the same effect as documenting the location which I suppose is what this site is about.

Some pictures of the buildings would be nice please?

p.s Before everyone kicks off, I wasnt being rude, critiqueish, I was merely just suggesting what I believe this site is about...

Next topic will having an outside shot again.

I understand what you are saying,
but this way i like it the most myself.

Brilliant pictures Bartje! Did you visit any other places in that area? I hear there's a ton of lovely big ruined buildings around there.

Had this book on my Amazon wish list for a while, and judging from the price, it's gonna stay on there for a good while longer!
