Another old coal mine

Hopefully not done before. This is the site of a former coal mine near me, the land is now used mostly for other industry now

HISTORY
Opened as a mine in 1899, most of the buildings we see were built between 1925 and 1928. Closed down in 1960 and most of the buildings were pulled down in 61.

At it's peak, this mine employed 2600 people.

Interesting architecture,thanks for sharing.

Nice site there, shame about the focus - or lack there of. If you are going to post a lot of pictures please make sure they aren't as blurry next time. You might want to consider using a tripod with a long exposure or perhaps learn to light paint.

I am not a photographer. Never have been...never will be. I understand nothing of photography. I only use my iPhone. On the same token I am also not by any means in the same "urbexing" league that most here are. I merely enjoy it, and wish to share my joy on here.

This is not the first time someone has picked up on the poor quality of my photos and will more than likely not be the last. It is all I can manage. It is now getting to the stage where I am actually thinking twice about posting anything on here as my posts to do not reach the required standard.

Dude don't get defensive, in focus pictures is a minimum standard for ANY picture based website on the entire internet. Frankly it's a very low minimum standard.

If you're on an iphone that's fine, no problem, just stick to posting the ones that come out in focus.
