Hi All
I know I know, I posted part 2 and then part 2.1 and you are all saying where`s part 1?
Well part 1 was an epic fail, I went up north to Metz to look at one of the Maginot line forts now this was a 3 1/2 drive from Dijon to GO Soetrich.
When I left Dijon it was sunny and warm (well done if you know whats coming) on the way north it started to rain and by the time I got north of Metz it was mental rain, not that
half arsed rain you get in Manchester but full on hardcore French boarder rain thats heavy, cold and shown no sign of letting up.
Wish I had my water proof leggings......
After wandering round the woods for hours I found a way in but as I was on my own and the rain made the way in very slippy I was not 100% I could get out on my own.
Oh and I was wet, no not wet more like soaked to the skin, even by boots had water in them.
These are the gun mounts and the observation cupola for one of the block houses.
After I found the way in and thought better of it, I took this it`s a machine gun cupola on top of one of the entrance blocks.
Well that`s it there are no more pictures on my FlickR page cos I didn`t have the heart to take any.
Oh note to self, when you get in the car and drive off are are about 2km down the road THEN you remember
you left your boots by the side of the car and have to drive back and get them, check you have everthing before you leave.
Cheers Newage
