We actually passed this last year without paying it any attention, but yesterday we stopped on our way back from visiting a ruined castle....sooooo glad we stopped!!!...back in the year 72 B.C the Roman general Pompey established a town...the ruins of which remain to this day & eventually a museum was built to house stuff such as coins, pottery, statues, sarcophagi, etc, etc that were unearthed at the site...whether or not it was a private house first I don't know...but it appears to date from the 16th century, the building itself is in a fairly good state of repair, the roof's good so it's dry inside, some of the windows are smashed and there is only one bit of graffiti inside....it's a cool place and I would LOVE to buy it if I was ever in the position.....
