My last planned explore on my Hong Kong trip was to have been The Dragon Lodge on The Peak. However, HK has a habit of throwing up surprises. Hence my penultimate report from this fascinating part of China is, therefore this observation post/HQ halfway up Tai Mo Shan mountain. We were took up here by my brother-in-law for the views and we stumbled across this photogenic lump of concrete. Subsequent research has shown that just up the road and over the hill from this place is an old abandoned military base. Hey ho...next time then.

Anyhow, no history on this place so here's the pictures.

What's this in the bushes?

Inside it's pretty much empty and trashed...

Bar the odd broken door...

and rust light fitting:

...and of course the obligatory peeling paint:

Ah, and let's not forget the table:

Some close-ups of the building's fabric:

And these strange concrete trigonometrical shapes on the roof:

There's just something about paint-peeling concrete isn't there?

Some nice images and an interesting subject.
In photos 6 & 7 there is evidence of recent (?) British electrical activity in the form of square three pin sockets. I don't remember when the square pin replaced the round pin plugs in the UK.I appreciate that HK was a UK colony hence the British influence.

Well HughieD, you certainly had a very busy holiday. Thanks for sharing with us.

My pleasure. I guess I did have a month so had time on my side. Good spot with the plug!
