Grouped these three houses together as they didn't merit a report on their own but make a nice mini-report as a trio. Towards the end of our Hong Kong trip we moved to a hotel by the Ting Kau bridge that spans the Rambler Channel. There was a glorious view from our hotel room including a birds-eye view of the village of Ting Kau.

From our room I spotted what looked to be a very interesting old house:

Hence further investigation was required. Once down there the place that Google Maps refers to as Yee Yee villa was indeed abandoned and very interesting but sadly it was locked up tight. Hence these are a few externals from the place which looks to have been left empty for some time.

All was not lost however. There was a totally abandoned and accessible house next to it. That one will be the subject of a full report such was its photogenic qualities.

But on walking down to the sea front I came across to other abandonments. The first was this modest family home right on the sea front:

Further along and closer to the beach still was this fantastically decaying residence. There was some serious dereliction going on here but sadly again it was tightly secured:

With its beach position and lovely roof terrace this could be a real cracking place but for now, it remains in decay…

I wonder how long those elephant's would last in a British garden, about a couple of days in a Cornish one, I enjoyed it, Thanks

On Image 2628 showing the balcony of the house, I noticed a unique way to mount the TV aerial. As Smiler says those porcelain elephants would not last very long in the UK, stolen one day and on Ebay the next. It is a shame that this house has gone to dereliction.

Cheers folks. Missed the TV aerial but you're right. The house next door was a real corner. More on that v.soon....

Absolutely stunning images Hughie... I'm quite envious of this little China trip of yours, might have to look at flights out there now!

Is it me or are all the derelict buildings a little more "Lax" than over here? No over the top barbed wire, fencing and shitty chip board? It seems they just put a little notice up to say the building is unsafe but the entry seems really straight forward, correct me if I'm wrong!

Cheers man. There are a lot of empty places in HK. Some are securely locked up, others just left open to nature. Deffo recommend a trip. Can point you on the direction of a few places if you give me a shout. For me it's all about the big abandoned villas and ghost towns. Most of the industrial stuff has gone sadly.
