I climbed part way up the water tower for this view until nerves got the better of me.

I liked the angularity of this building. Here in the UK it could be called classic Art Deco. I also like the way nature soon reclaims derelict places. Of course this happens so much quicker in the tropics.I did nearly tread on a big scorpian when I was out in the dark. Not supposed to be lethal here. Nor are the fast green snakes that live in the coconut trees.

Here he is in defensive posture. I would not have liked to tread on him.

I dont worry too much about such things having travelled a lot in Australia and other places. Most things will scamper away or take a still defensive posture. You just have to be observant. It is the little things that are dangerous like box jellyfish in the sea or red back spiders in Australia. My son lives there and had a red back in his shed for ages. The much bigger Huntsman spider is harmless. Never corner anything either. Sharks have a bad reputation but more people get killed by coconuts falling on their head in the tropics. Likewise here in the UK. About 8 people a year get killed by cows. It's all about what catches media attention and folks innate fear of certain things . ( largely unjustified ).
