Default Pillboxes, near Wartet, Belgium, April 2018

Came across these en route to another potential explore that turned out to be in the process of being restored. Can't find any info about these concrete monsters. I'm presuming they were Belgium built. Anyone in the know or with any info please let me know...

First one I spotted on its own:

    Access possible!

    Inside looking out:

Still fairly clean on the inside:

Back on the road and north of Wartet there is a chain of pillboxes:

    Another one that is accessible:

Very nice set Hughie - once again. As to nationality, all depends where you were actually on the ground and if these are WW1 or WW2 origin. Google 'Pill boxes Wartet' and have a look at the Pillbox entries, a couple of good maps/site plans to be found. If post WW1; then these are part of the Belgian defensive line around Wartet, that the 'Blitzkrieg' waltzed around in the drive for the Channel Coast!

Interesting and very clean looking pillboxes. But as DS states these could be WW1 pillboxes.
