History

Opened on 24th May 1965 it is 333.3m long and 6.5m wide. Angles in the curves are 49 degrees.

At its peak it belonged to the fastest open air velodromes in the world and staged the German Championships 18 times.

The last race was on 13th September 2017. The future looks bleak. There were rumours of a roller-blading club taking it over but it would cost too much to repair so looks like it wll be pulled down and the land sold for housing.

I surprised its disused with the boom in cycling these days. Thanks for sharing.

Some unusual and interesting places you are visiting Rom. I'm surprised it has wooden flooring, looks bloody steep too, I'd never hit the speeds to stay up there!
