Default Residential blocks, Losheng Sanatorium, Taipei, Taiwan, August 2018

Bit of a follow-on from my earlier post on Losheng Sanatorium. Not going to go into too much detail here as the history and explore details are covered in my main post.

Because it’s such a big site thought these residential blocks just about merited a report on their own. Not as interesting as the main hospital complex but despite that, there’s some nice colours and decay here. These buildings can be found on the north-east perimeter of the complex and were once the residencies of families.

    2. Dātóng House
This horse-shoe shaped building has now got a protective roof constructed over it to protect it from the elements.

    Some rooms are pretty bare.

Others are full of various belongings:

A nice covered walk-way skirts the inner court-yard:

    3. Xīnjiān House
This complex of former residential houses hasn’t had the benefit of a protective roof and the existing roof has gone leaving many rooms open to the elements.

What a strange place. A lot of money has gone into fabricating that steel frame cover, then the doors are left open for anyone to trash it!
Looks another quality explore in any case!

Interesting find this Hughie, I guess these would have been occupied by hospital workers now abandoned. Looks more like a stables in some shots!

Hi mate. They were occupied by recovering sufferers who weren't allowed to reintegrate into society. There's quite a lot of them and most are still lived in bar these few.

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
