On the surface, with everything else in Paris being pretty easy to get into. A building site, hey must be a walk in the park, right. I mean right?. Well not exactly. Access into the site was nothing out of the norm, and we were soon heading to the main building.
We had just jumped over a small fence when i noticed what looked like a figure standing against a railing. I was unsure and we etched a little closed until the figure moved and was clearly staring at us. At it was 2am it could only be security. We continued to walk past, and the figure didn't say anything just followed our movements. It seems we were in the clear until we came across yet another person this time coming towards us, crap.
We darted up a nearby stairwell to avoid the person. It was clear they had followed us and were checking the doors to see where we had gone. We headed along the corridors and on to the roof to avoid them further.
Although this was only a smaller building situated around the main tower it still offered superb views. We continued to another stairwell to head down toward the tower. All was going well before we almost got caught again by another guard coming out of a room overlooking the forecourt!. We waited for him to turn around and ran up a nearby staircase. Nooo a dead end!.
It was too risky to head back in case we were seen so we hit the deck and decided to wait. The guard eventually walked past so we waited for 3 minutes and were just about to leave when two girls went past. Odd. Shortly followed by two security guards, and then another person. What the hell was going on here?.
We decided it might be students or workers left over from the open building, but at 2 in the morning? surely not. We decided to just go for it and hope for the best, down the stairs, all good so we headed for the roof.
We started taking pictures of the surrounding sights, the Eiffel Tower, Notre Damn as well as other bits and bobs, as we were packing up we heard a bang of a gate, we looked down to see another security guard with the biggest Alsatian known to man!. This sped up your decision to get the fu** out!
more pictures will be on my site soon
