Last fall I moved to a new neighbourhood closer to downtown Seoul. On my first weekend riding around, I randomly happened upon an entire abandoned university. The Seoul campus was too expensive to run, so they moved to a new campus outside city limits and just left this one behind. The demolition process has taken at least a year so far. About a third of the buildings have been knocked down by now. Here are a few of my favourites.

1. Here's the front gate. I just walked right in, and the security guard in his shack didn't even bother looking up. I was about to tap on the glass and ask for permission to look around, but then I thought better and ran.

2. My first visit, the campus was still pretty much in the same condition since it had closed.

3. A bunch of photos I found on the ground outside.

4. There's a very good lookout point next to the Indian embassy where you can see into the other side of campus.

5. I never did get closer to these totem poles.

6. My wife is probably the only urban explorer ever to wear neon pink during an infiltration with high security.

7. The science building was the easiest to infiltrate.

27. It's hard taking 30-second exposure shots when you've got a woman tugging at your sleeve.

Loads of lovely details in this explore...excellent site. The pagoda-type shelter and the totem poles are my favourites. I like the found photos, too. Good stuff!

What a great place

you can almost hear the squeak of trainers, and a bouncing ball on pic 19 :)

Another cracking explore racetraitor :) like the science lab and the fancy water cooler (if thats what it is) pic 16

Yep, it's a water cooler. I saw it, thought it would be a good subject, then I went into the washroom and forgot about it. It wasn't until after I left the building, when I remembered the water cooler, and I went all the way back in just for that one photo.

Well I'm glad you did, It looks great

What an amazing place, can't believe they've just left it like that. Love the sports hall, you can imagine sitting there waiting for a basketball game to start. Love the labs with all the test tubes etc, and love all the outside of the buildings. And the pagoda and totem poles. Love it all.

Cheers racetraiter, looks like an amazing explore.

:) Sal
