On the way back to the ferry from Belgium where we had recently spent a week bimbling about we decided to look at this former coastal retirement home which by all accounts was pretty much wrecked but worth visiting just for the Chapel in the grounds
We bumped into a lady who lived next door when we were leaving who explained to us that 2 or 3 years ago it was a lovely retirement home and the owners got an offer from a development company to turn the place into a hotel, so literally overnight they packed up the old folk put them in bed and breakfasts and waited for the money to roll in .... the deal fell through leaving the site to the mercy of the local kids who trashed and burnt the place!
