After seeing a couple of posts about this manor house, I decided to take a trip for myself.
The front was mostly fenced up and right on the main street, so waiting for a break in the traffic I slinked my way into the grounds.
Little history can be found about this site, other than comments on here saying it may have been a brothel.
The style of the house makes it seem out of character with neighbouring properties. From the front the house seems smaller than it actually is, but walking around the side it quickly becomes clear just how grand this place would have once been. The white brickwork is now covered in ivy and the gardens are now mostly laid to stinging nettles:
Walking in through the side entrance I found myself just under the landing, with the hallway and stairs to my right, and the kitchen just in front of me:
There was a lot of evidence of building work going on in here, although it isn't clear how recent it is. This was the state of the front two rooms:
The entrance hall was very dark due to all the boarding around the property:
The view looking up the stairs:
The stairs lead up to two landings:
One way lead to the bathroom and a couple of rooms:
The rooms upstairs were mostly in a state of disrepair:
I made my way down to the basement:
I loved the little shed outside:
And just for fun:
Thanks for looking!
