A couple of weeks ago I visited a WW2 prisoner of war camp. While I was here I felt like I could feel what they had to go through, it was such a weird feeling. Unfortunately its become a farmers dumping ground and rumour has it. its going in for development permission.

Somehow I doubt that! To the vast majority of German and Italian POW's interned in the UK, the time spent in these camps was almost a holiday - compared with their service lives. Well fed, most allowed to do farm work and most importantly - warm and safe. Compare that with the German POW camps and one wonders how people could be so brutal! Dad's Regiment opened up some of these German POW camps and also interred their former guards in them. Some of his 'illegal' jottings, made at the time, make horrendous reading today.

Your more than likely right. But it definitely had a weird feeling about it. Maybe because I was alone. Who knows
