Apologies if this has been mentioned already, but anyone sharing my obsessional interest in wartime airfields would probably love this site-
http://www.airfieldinformationexchange.org/
It's the public forums of the Airfield Research Group, who have been running since about 1975 and who managed to photograph hundreds of airfields/buildings etc before they fell prey to developers.

Fascinating Gordon, I was supposed to get an early night tonight, but I been on that site for hours and its now after midnight! Loads of great info and plans on there, cheers man!

lol, Another one to go and read. I love old airfields. Never realised there used to be an RAF airfield not far from me in Blidworth, till I found it on a list of airfields. Been searching out info for it for the past 3 years lmao.
Turns out Wellingtons and stuff used to go there for Maintenance. Closed in 1942. :(

Will add the link now. Cheers Gordon,

:) Sal
