Bannermans is quite interesting - I have copies of his 1905, 1912 and 1915 mail order catalogues. His stock consisted of 90% of the Spanish military equipment abandoned in Cuba during the hurried 1901 retreat plus dozens of other items from even earlier conflicts. He also listed numerous Scottish edged weapons, due probably to his Scots heritage. He sold to anybody with hard cash, Government Officials or Joe Public alike. I have seen other images of the church shown in illustration 31 and in these the child's coffin is described as an early wooden crib used in the Nativity'. I think I will go for the latter explanation - the thought of some lowlife opening up a little one's coffin is not something I want to contemplate.

Anyone want to come explore Canfranc Rail Station with me this summer?! I'll be in Spain for a few weeks in July or August and would love to check it out, just not so keen on doing it alone :)
