hi all
this was my 1st ever place to explore , i have walked past this church many times so i thought what a great place to start my journey.

wesleyan church was built in 1910 on the site of the original chapel built 1887 , i dont know exactally when it closed but it was literally closed over night due to the big crack that had apperared in the front of the church , rumour has it that three mines converge on this area (Arboretum , moss close and the huge james adams mine ) these mines were abandoned and the supporting pillars removed so this could be a reason why this church is collapsing , like i said its only a rumour tho .

a fire swept through the place in 2008 so the stairs to the belltower are totally gone , shame as i would have loved a peek.

WOW! Superb images. I love the entrance, shame about the fire damage. I bet this place would have been majestic before its destruction.Great first report. Thanks abandoned-angel!

There is a palnning application/confirmation on the front door.

Demolition on the horizon. I hope they recycle the stone.

What a lovely looking place, as others have said, bet it was pretty when before the fire damage!

Great photos and a first report - welcome to Derelict Places :)
