When I saw the title I thought 'oh gawd not some horrid old stone wreck of a church.....boring' but I have to say I was very suprised,a very interesting building and that 'jesus' is kinda groovy :D

There are few things in life more heartwarming than to be welcomed by a cat.

Mmmmm. Very nice! Did the organ still have pipework, I wonder?

It looks like a typical 60's/70's church building: impressive, light, airy, and an absolute bugger to heat and maintain. I wonder whether it was closed due to dwindling numbers, or due to a progressively horrendous maintenance bill, or both.

Look like they may have been the lights at one time. The church does not look that old, congrigation must have dwindled. Nice photo's

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
