Rosary cemetery..norwich.

The roary cemetery in norwich was the first None denominational cemetery opening in 1821 ready for burials.It was a cemetery were burials would Take place with the religous service of your choice or not have one.The cemetery was built on five acres of market garden.the site is on large slopes So to stop slippage the builders installed cobbled drains for the water to drain away..the rosary was extended to thirteen acres.and in 1854 the cooperation took on the management of the cemetery.there iss several burials here from the norwich to Great Yarmouth train line accident in 1874..there is also nineteen commonwealth graves from World War One..the top half of the cemetery known as the new ground is still doing burials..but the old part is slowly being taken over by nature as little work is done now.volunteer groups do try and keep back the overgrowth.the cemetery is a public place and I visited here several times.i love getting lost in here and sit in the peace and tranquility.in 2010 it was granted a grade 2 listing.

Super photos, as creepy as cemetery's can be, they are a lasting example of people's beliefs and ideas over the decades with current and past customs existing side by side. Love them in a bizarre way!

Absolutely stunning place, wonderful pics the way the light is captured too.. can't help but notice the new housing estate in background.. nowhere is sacred these days..
