I stopped off at this church on the way to Essex.

Here we have, a beautiful redundant church which got remodelled in the 19th century by E. F. Bishopp. The plan of the church consists of a nave with a clerestory, a south porch, a south chapel, a chancel, and a west tower. The tower and organ is locked up. The unaccesable features include a two manual organ made by 1929 by J. Rayson and Son. There is a ring of 5 bells, the oldest dating from the late 15th century.

The open areas are stunning, there is an old working organ at the south chapel, the west side of the church has an interesting safe and a couple of bibles. There is a few old barns near the church.

This became redundant in the 1950's.

Another great church you have found Dauntless, and I love the photos too :) You seem to be very lucky with the amount of churches your way! They are few and far between in my area.

Beautiful church and nicely photographed. The organ comes from the USA that surely is a first because in most churches in England the organ is made in England and it had its own candle holder. Love the pews, especially the carvings. And there is and old-fashioned energy light bulb from the nineties. Phew, lots to see in that church.
