    Default St. Andrews church..Northumberland

Whilst coming back from Scotland I decided to pop in to see this redundant church.set on the hill I made the win swept walk up to it on an extremely sunny but blustery day.the church is very clean inside despite classy sing in 1971.to the far corner is a grade one listed hopper mausoleum.the church was built in 1837 to replace an older church.it is constructed of coursed rubble and a slate roof.it was a nice tiny little, simple church and now under the care of the churches conservation trust.

I like to go where others fear to tread.

That's a beautiful little place and captured very well. My grandparents were elders in a church that looks very similar to this, which is now disused and has sat empty for years. Flogged by CoS to some company, applied to convert it to offices but planning was refused so it has sat there untouched for years. Really enjoyed that mate, thanks.

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
