I think I'll find it difficult to better this as the smallest location I've ever photographed.

In the middle of nowhere in deepest darkest Wales lies a tiny single room former chapel, it's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it location that you wouldn't normally take a second look at - but I knew it was a chapel and I am a fan of chapels so it had to be seen. It could maybe hold around 20 people at capacity, although with most of the pews removed it is hard to tell. It's been empty a long time, given it's remote location I wonder whether it ever had any real congregation at all as there are no villages close and only a couple of houses anywhere nearby.

I know it's not much to look at but it's the cutest little thing!

Just a little private chapel probably for the people in the nearby houses. The chapel has been constructed well, not your "just four walls and a roof but attention to detail. The large beam that supports the roof has a fancy moulding. The pews look as though they are made from oak and they have been constructed well. A nice find.

Interesting find Mookster, I can't decide if this is a lovely quaint curio or majorly creepy in a Blair witch type of way!? Either way, cool pics :)

Yeah that’s really nice, it’s the sort of place I wonder how long it’s been since anyone has stepped foot inside!

Sad to see the state this Chapel is in now, 50 odd years ago it still looked quite neat and tidy. A small, none conformist Chapel built by skilled local crafts men, with the large box pew being for the local 'Squire' or landowner's family. The majority of the congregation would have walked miles to and from services here - the number of local dwellings being no sound indication of the actual size of the congregation attending for worship. Built with a love and passion very rarely seen these days, these places are also a reminder of difficult times - in an age when we take our freedoms far too much for granted.
