Default Fairytale Church, Norfolk December 2017

The history of this church is pretty vague, but parts of the building date from the 14th Century and it has been empty a long, long time after the small congregation moved to other churches in the vicinity.

It's up there with the most beautiful ruins I've seen, the exterior is almost completely covered in ivy growth and the interior has full size mature trees growing through the floor.

Something about the area isn't there? Have watched those trees growing ever upwards over the years. Always told our young son to run ahead and see if the 'Congregation' was still standing there, after the saplings had taken hold.

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
