Visited this very strange place on my way back down south. I know Mikeymutt has just done a report but I'm gonna fire mine up anyway. I actually visited the day before him - one day our paths will cross and we will finally meet each other haha!

I arrived at about 6.30am so had to wait for the sun to start coming up before I could take any pics. I was tempted to light the place myself but I was quite surprised by the volume of traffic going up and down this country road so early so I decided against it. I got the fright of my life when I wandered inside in the pitch black and the first thing I saw was the silhouettes of the mannequins! I am glad I waited for the first glimmer of light, despite being a pain to get a sharp focus, the cold blue morning light really added something to the place.

All I know about this church is it changed to residential use in the 80's when a lady bought it and I believe she lived there until her death. She was obviously well traveled as there were a lot of very old slides from various places around the world including a safari trip. I tried to get a few snaps of them by holding them to the window but none of them came out well due to my over-caffeinated hands being a bit unsteady. It was a real shame to see them strewn around because she was a great photographer, and a very passionate one judging by the amount of books on the subject. She clearly had a real thing for dolls!

I really wished I had set off on my travels a bit later, I would've had an extra hour in bed, not wasted an hour waiting for first light and all my shots wouldn't have required 20-30sec exposures. But I still had 400+ miles to drive so I could only spend a short time here.

Lovely set! I loved this place too, could've spent hours in there. There was a photo album near the record player full of pictures of the inside of the church when it was lived in. I forgot to take pictures of it but it was amazing to see!

Ah I wish I’d found that! I had my usual wander around first before taking pics, but that was just with a torch. A daytime visit is on the cards for the next trip back home as I have a lot of other places in the area I want to go.

A nice set of photos, I would love to have a browse at the book collection and the photo album that's been mentioned.

Love the shots of the mannequins and the caged doll! I take it you never had a hangover that morning, cause if you had walked into that with one I fink you wuda cracked for sure:very_drunk::devilish:
