Those who know me know I tend to not rush out and do the latest 'flavour of the month' kind of explore, however every so often I make an exception and, although this place is the flavour of the month right now I simply had to see it.

Birmingham's Methodist Central Hall was constructed between 1903 and 1904 with seating for 2000 people in the main hall, and closed in 1991. Parts of it were reopened as a nightclub however this closed in 2002 and it laid empty for a second period of time. It was then reopened again as another club in 2007 and closed down once more in 2016, and it's been empty since.

I loved this place. Architecturally it is stunning, and there is more leaded and stained glass here than I have ever seen before. I was quite glad there was nobody else in here when we visited - I was half expecting to bump into other explorers - as it meant we had the run of the building and were left in complete peace for the duration. The main hall is obviously the big draw here however I really enjoyed poking around all the other rooms as there is a lot more in here to see than just the hall itself. I took a particular liking to the triangular staircase located in the north eastern corner of the building.

Thanks for looking :)

Beautiful that, its another one i will most likely miss the boat on, but I will satisfy myself with your excellent pictures.

Such a stunning building, them red brick tiles are gorgeous, must be the same architect as the mag court opposite by the looks of it. Not nothing wrong in getting in there quick, you gotta nowadays before they get wrecked or sealed! That light on the curved staircase is beautiful. Lovely shots mookster.

Nice, stunning building the photos definitely bring it out. I might have to wander up here.
