Default Praise Methodist Church, Cornwall May 2018

Another one from my Spring/Summer backlog of 2018. Mookster, our American Explorer Friend and I drove from The Torrington Creamery to this little West Country Church. I think it was a nice fresh change for our friend, being used to the large American churches back home.

This one was in a tiny little Village; even Hamlet in deepest, darkest Cornwall; hidden totally from the road; it took some finding once parked!!

The interior is pretty spacious for the exterior appearance, and despite being closed for a while, it has decayed rather beautifully.

We had a nose in the old Sunday School; but the floor had completely given up the ghost so we stayed in the doorway.

The Church was built in 1861 and closed in 1993

Nice one. Amazing that it is still relatively untouched by human hand since I went there in the spring.

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
