This is Hull City Temple which has been abandoned since 1984. It's a former Methodist Chapel and the current owner plans to convert it into flats. After visiting, I would say he has his work cut out for him.

The building is very impressive from the outside but inside it's a real mess. There are holes all over the floor and the upper balcony level and strange stage type thing look very unsafe.

A lovely building just left to rot. Some more info on it here.

Omg thats such a shame to see such a building going to waste :( Some nice photos there though :)

It IS a real shame. Especially since there seems to be a real Christian revival happening, and new churches are struggling to find suitable buildings. :(

We're all cosy in an old converted furniture showroom though. :)

Gorgeous building. Some really nice details...love the blue-painted moulding and the rose window. Very sad to see it left to rot. :(
Nice find, KE. :)

Nice one matey,

every time I've walked around it, there've been too many people around to risk jumping the fence at the side, at least I've SEEN inside it now!

(still gonna keep trying though!)

Get over that fence mate, you know you want to LOL :)

That's really something.

Love the 3rd shot and, well, all the interior pics! It looks more like a theatre or a bingo hall than a church :)

Shame. How can it be justified to turn these gorgeous pieces of architecture into flats. All i can say is that money talks, and council planning chiefs have been getting their fat pockets lined with fat developer money for years!
Good report, i love the dappled clouds in the external shots.
