    Default Brackley Sawmills 07/2010

I wasn't sure where to put this, as it is in essence an Industrial Site - but they built houses on the site for the members of staff that needed to be there 24/7 and their families.

Its been targeted by Scrappies and Vandals which is a huge shame :(

Theres a lot more photo opportunities so I will definitely get back to grab some more pictures.

    PM for more info :)

Some days you wake and immediately start to worry. Nothing in particular is wrong, it's just the suspicion that forces are aligning quietly and there will be trouble

Since you call yourself Photographicman, I'm going to assume that you'll be skilled in the art of resizing your images?

So could I kindly ask that you use that skill to ensure each pic isn't a meg and a half big? It makes for very slow downloading for those of us using Noah's bandwidth otherwise.

    Ta very much. :)
Do it safely, or not at all.

The sound of children laughing makes me happy.

Unless I'm all alone in an abandoned hospital and my torch isn't working properly.

The lagging on the pipes in the last photo could well be asbestos. Take care!

It's a pretty nice place, be weary at night though, it's a place that is frequented by tramps and chavs. And if your marching around amoung the shrubbery be careful because a sharp upstanding nail went straight through my friends thick soled shoes and straight into his foot.

Being an old timber mill there's plenty of dust kicking about, and as Midge said, there is plenty of asbestos around.

All that said, have a good explore, and I look forward to seeing more pics on here!! :)

What part of the planet are you on, I used to pass the place going to Silverstone, you can still see it from teh Roundabout nearby. I often wondered what happened to the place, thanks for shareing. :)

Thanks :) Those ones were for a project of mine I did last year - I didn't have the time to go through and edit all these pics, But I've seen the standard of some of the pics on this site - so I'm motivated to put more effort in now!

I'm going back here before Friday so I'll post some more in the thread (resized properly aswell!!)

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
