Took a second trip to Lillesden today with a friend, in better weather than last time and this trip had some highs and some lows, and I saw lots of stuff me and Martyn missed last time.

Got in the same way as last time and spent a good amount of time inside, seeing all the good bits including the clock tower! Although today we weren't alone in there, whilst standing in the clock tower we heard what turned out to be the groundsman/unofficial security guard come crunching up the gravel drive, stand right below us outside and check the boards etc, we very quietly emerged from the tower and whilst walking downstairs saw him walk off. Later we bumped into a group of 4 other explorers, and just as we were about to show them where the clock tower was, we were asked to leave by the groundsman/guard who (rather bravely or stupidly) had ventured into the building where 6 people were exploring, for all he knew we could've been pikeys or nasty types. So just a word of warning, the 'guard' isn't scared to come inside the building when he knows people are in there.

The clock tower was definitely the highlight, took some lateral (and vertical) thinking to get up there but it was worth it. I can't reiterate enough how bad the floors are in here though.

Clock tower workings (apologies for flash it was very cramped, very dark and was the only way I could get it in focus)

The best condition room in the entire building, probably because the entrance hallway to it has the worst floor I've ever seen

A bit pic heavy but I really really love this place. I took some video clips as well which I'm going to edit together, so that should be around soon.

A few more pics are here http://www.flickr.com/photos/mookie427/sets/72157625039804123

Glad you found the holy grail of Lillesden it eludes me on each visit (Two and still failed to find it) did you find Frodo and Co at all?

Yeah Frodo and co are on the top floor, there's a load of interconnecting dorms that are spread around the top floor in a sort of square shape.

We only found the tower by accident, we thought what we'd found was just another cupboard but then came back to it after realising we were literally right next to it...looked up and there she was!

Whilst we explored the place I took some video and have edited it together.

No arty shots, no fancypants editing, I just videoed as we walked.

What a great video. well done for braving the dodgy floorboards. A suitably solemn piece of music adds to the atmosphere of this gorgeous building.
