Another grim council care home! This fine example of 1970s caring is a sizeable affair, split over 2 or 3 storeys because peculiarly it is built up a hill. This is my 3rd such place to explore and they don't get any less grim....least this one wasn't arsoned or suffering mega water damage. This one was explored with ex-member Larkin and a non-member.

Iffley House was a 50-ish bed (didn't count) care home for the elderly and people with dementia and physical disabilities. It closed some time in 2005 or 2006 due to the changing regulations which required each bedroom to have en-suite facilities. Structurally it is sound but pretty stripped, and the local pikeys/chavs have made a fine mess of all the sinks! We spent about two hours in there but after that time security turned up outside and came in to look for us, after hiding in a kitchen store room we completed the explore with them looking for us and snuck out, and while walking back down the public road security emerge and start berating us from behind the fence, calling us knobheads and stuff....nice!

Sink graveyard....

There were a few of these baths in varying states of repair this was in the best condition...

Thanks for looking...more pics (if you can take the grim-ness) here http://www.flickr.com/photos/mookie427/sets/72157625969418252/
