Default Houses by the (haunted?) A75

This is another place I've driven past loads of times but never got round to exploring but now the kids are at school and I'm working in the evenings I've finally got the chance.
The A75 road went through major upgrades in the early 1990's with most towns on the route by-passed and sections widened. I think these houses were abandoned at that time as the road has been widened almost right up to their front doors or perhaps they were compulsorily purchased by the authorities and left to rot.
Sadly not much left to give any indication as to the people who once lived here. although the house on the right was in better condition.
This part of the road is known locally as the Kinmount Straight and is supposed to be one of the most haunted roads in Britain hence the title.
    Hope you enjoy.

Sorry for this post but I couldnt get these photos to upload earlier and I think it makes the post complete, plus I risked life and limb dodging hgv's crossoing the road to get the front external so I'm damn well making it worth my while!

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
