This is Carnsalloch House a stately home built in 1759 of red ashlar. In the 1960's it became a Leonard Cheshire care home and remained as such until the turn of this century when it closed and was briefly run as a private school. Plans to convert the building to luxury flats were refused and the house has remianed derelict since, it has also suffered some fire damage.
I know this house has featured before but I have never explored it before and it is only a 5 minute drive from my home so I hope no one minds!

Thanks for posting but if you're going to go "picture heavy" again please make the images a bit more scintillating than a mold growth. It took nearly 3 minutes for the full page of images to load!!!

Sorry, the pictures were taken over two visits and I did get a bit carried away! Also I realise because of my location, it is unlikely that places near me will receive many visits so I try to let viewers on the forum see as much as possible:)

No worries dude. The forum guidelines indicate the desired number of pix on a report but when a report is ofsomewhere mint, or somewhere really unusual, then nobody minds more pix than normal. I'm guilty of putting lots of pix up too! :( Thanks for your reply, and keep up the good work! :)
