Default The Old General Stores, Brecklands RV (1)

I decided to return to this little treasure today with the old Finepix Fuji-film.

Well worth the visit! I struggled to trace back history with the previous owners but a little paper had the name of Geoff. I can't work out if it's addressed to the owner or someone local. A paper stuck in the front door was dated from 2012 but a calendar read 1984. Most of the features should remain from 1984 such as the gold coloured BC 100w light bulbs and the vintage T12 fluorescent tubes.

The condition has deteriorated a little bit such as the access side of things.

The only resident living there after the old owner died was a homeless man but he got the boot when they put the metal fence at the front. I recon that was around 2012. A rumour was that there was a homeless man upstairs when someone that I know locally explored it a few years ago. There are old disabled bars in the bathroom for an elderly person.

    Start from best to best:

    The outdoor sheds:

I had a look on a can to see if it had a sell-by date but it didn't. It felt half empty too. The chairs always change upstairs compared to previous threads.

Those cans of coke had the old fashioned ring pulls on,they used to come of completely and millions of them were scattered across the country causing a large litter problem.the new style became common in the mid to late 80s.

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
