First Time Documented!

Sometimes you stumble on something worthwhile, without using forums and following others, places like this pop up a fair amount if your eyes are open to them, this is a place I noticed a few months ago, kept my eyes on it then went for a better look awhile ago. :D an im really glad I did, especially as its really close to my hometown.

After the first squeeze it was all systems go, each room full with clutter and items most all worth photographing, and all worthy of a 35mm/50mm shot, a newish piano lay getting damp due to a burst pipe in the attic, while a bedroom lay filled with toys and old board games, a gasmask with original box was in the outhouse under clutter an buckets, an a stunning picture lay in one room surrounded by old cigar boxes, a real neat tiny place where if you spent long enough you'd find more an more, I tried to do my best but rooms filled with so much stuff it was almost impossible, to achieve a nice neat photo of the whole room. Many people like places like this, some hate them for me these places are initially worth documenting, even if the only history to the building is its past owners and being a tad nosey ;)

I hope many of you like this, an can piece together some info on it.

(all documents/letters are altered for obvious reasons).

Enjoy! :)

A good report. It looks like he was in the army and liked smoking King Edward cigars. This guy had class. Superb photos.

Sadly, when the 'archive' of a family ends up in one location like this, it is very difficult for complete strangers to read the evidence. However certain things do stand out - the cigar packaging is modern day and if other items are genuine to the householder, then the WW1 era soldier pictured did not smoke the contents. Does the strip of square frame 35mm images (taken with a 35mm twin lens reflex judging by orientation of images) indicate he was electronics/aviation orientated? - The BOAC 'Speedbird' logo, on the tail plane of the aircraft attached to the engine test silencer rig, might indicate this. The second to last photo shows an ex MOD water purification kit in its tin box - pop a couple of the chlorine tablets into your water bottle, shake and let stand for 10 minutes and then add a couple of the thiosulphate tablets to kill any excess chlorine. Camping shops, Army and Navy Stores etc were full of these brown tin boxes in the 50's and 60's - think we paid 1/6 (old cash)/tin when we buggered off into the Atlas Mountains in the early 60's
