This one was a bit of a trip back in time. I first stumbled across this place completely by accident two and a half years ago when I first started my job. We give all of our used grain, hops and yeast to a local farmer who collects them after each brew and we drive a van up to the farm to collect the containers on the morning of a brew day. When I first started I was sent to the farm by myself one day. Being Scottish and living in Surrey, I didn't exactly know my way around at the time! I'd been up with someone a few times before so I know roughly where to go. Sod's law, wrong turn, oops! But that's when I first round this place.

I had my first proper visit here in March of this year but there were too many people about and it would have been a very noisy entrance due to the amount of decaying bags of empty cans blocking the doors, hence my chosen name. Fast forward to just recently and I was delivering to a pub near by and I was kept waiting at the bar for a good while and I overheard two toffs speaking about "that wretched house the kids vandalised finally being demolished." As soon as I heard the road name I decided to have a peek one evening. Not my best pics I have to say. We were doing a collaboration brew that day and I was taking some pics with my manual f1.8 lens on and I forgot I was still set to an iso of 800, so they are a bit grainy. I decided to duck out for a while before meeting everyone else at the pub, and to my delight they had started to clear the area prior to demolition so I tip toed straight in. There were cans everywhere so I decided to keep the name I had come up with, even the bath tub was full of them! Sadly my one pic of this was too blurry so I wont bother with it.

It was a bit of a rushed one because it was close to getting dark. I popped back recently to take more pics (better ones!) with my new camera only to find it was been wiped off the face of the earth so figured I would post them anyway.

Thanks for looking!

Yeah its a shame. The 2 different sized chairs in the bedroom made me think "his n hers." Its less than a mile away from Hi-Roll Cottage so I wonder if was the same vermin responsible for turning this place over? Who knows...

The house didn't last very long before it was demolished. The two chairs in the bedroom I can only guess was probably taken from the living room and placed next to the death bed. The owner of the house would spend their last days on this bed overlooked by two relatives waiting for the owner to pass on.
