Default St Giles house entrance lodge/Dorset/ dec 2016

Explore not exactly to plan as was after some interesting buildings in the grounds of St Giles House, Wimborne st Giles/ Dorset. A huge well know estate, anyway found this entrance lodge on the south side(nearby house with people and workman in the garden meant a rather hurried 10 min splore). Also lots of renovation done already so another pair of entrance lodges visible from the road looked lived in...link here.St Giles House, Wimborne St Giles -... I was having a nosey around one of the main entrances (all private and no entry signs plus a few groundsman about) when a group of walkers came striding out of the place, they were on a permission visit ...they said the 'grotto' was locked though but under renovation. May have to go back on an 'open day'.

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
