This property was sold September 14th 1998 for £355,000 so I am assuming it was turned into Dannah House Nursing Home after this date and opened thereafter..Dannah was refused a license in 2009 by Council officials who carried out a 25 point inspection, but failed all but five points. The residents were moved out shortly after and the building has remained in a derelict state ever since.I found an application to demolish the building and erect a two storey 32 bed care home..this was in 2011,so I assume that permission was refused.I have found the following information listing details of what Dannah offered:
Dannah House is a private residential care home offering accommodation and personal care for up to twenty-four service users over the age of 65 years that require care through old age including people in need of dementia care.I live about five minutes from this house and had forgotten it was still around,so after a beer or two I decided to take a look..it`s pretty rotten but has some good bits...
The House is pretty boring to look at

Well, you get the picture by now..pretty fetid but worth a look if you are in the area

Nice set there Klempner, but somehow a bit unsettling in some ways to an 'old bugger', if you get my drift! Sadly a scene/situation that is not uncommon in this day and age. It's funny that as the years roll by and one cuts back ranging far and wide to find interesting properties, just how much you can find on your immediate door step when out with the dogs. Not one for crossing the threshold nowadays; much prefer researching the history via the records, when I find an interesting place.
