I stopped off here whilst in the area looking at a local church. I don’t know any history on the place, and I wouldn’t want to jump to conclusions as to why this house has been left as it is. As you can see it’s a big old farmhouse that is suffering from subsidence.

Thanks for looking,

My goodness me Rubex, you've found some interesting stories there, looking at the evidence! It's a wonder Charlotte made 104, having breathed in all that Park Drive smoke - second hand or not? Sadly the house is just one of many, built on simple foundations alongside a quite village/country road and in its early days the rumble of a steam roller or traction engine would have been the worst vibrations it felt. Now it is being shaken to bits by modern traffic flows and probably fit only for demolition along with the other farm buildings and replacement by modern brick boxes. However you do wonder if the owners of the bikes are still alive as there are one or two items that I would have thought a close family member would have removed and saved. But then I am just an old sod!

haha yes! Charlotte certainly did make it to a good age. I found a few interesting reads actually! :)

I heard this place had been trashed :(

I am very fond of this place, sad to see.

Excellent set of photos Rubex

Still looks lovely Rubex. Shame if it has been trashed.

I remember sitting in the nearby Churchyard and passing the once lovely, colourful and cared for front garden.
It's strange really, the places you come across when completely lost in the countryside.

Fascinating newspaper headline wtf!!?? Fab shot of them coloured bottles on the windowsill, I'm a bit scared of the yellow one though, it's not tempting me with the fly and maggot oil either lol
Looks like you have unearthed some wonderful little bits to capture Rubex:encouragement:
Amazin 104th b'day!
Found this lovely to look at thanks!

Well I was just about to post that one myself Rubex, hope u dont mind if I do a follow up? (will try & do some different pics)
Did u go in next door?
If so u will have seen the planning apps & designs for new builds.
Also no doubt u noticed all the survey datum points as u can see in your hall shot.
I think its tragic its earmarked for demolition, couldnt see any major structual damage myself.
There was something about a "flood risk area" but fail to see that tiny stream could of flooded here in all of its history (although its possible the cellar was flooded as this has been backfilled)think its just an excuse to develop in what is a lovely tiny village.
...The birthday cards are exceptional!

It's a great place..love the newspaper cutting.has to be the sun

You made a grand job a'that Rubex, the egg collection was a surprise, not seen one in years, back in the day lots of kids did it, most enjoyable, Thanks

What a lovely house! It's a shame it likely won't be there for much longer. There's some lovely stuff left behind as well.
