After nearly 2 months. I've managed to uncover some more derelict stuff. Neither of these two are greatly interesting. Since they were both found on the same day. I'll stick them both on here as one.

Britannia Cottage: I found this little house by chance, all boarded up. I stopped off and had a look. It was accessible. Had a peek through the gap and saw the colour scheme looked ok. It was empty and trashed as expected, the toilet is intact featuring a bar of soap and a towel hanging on the back of the door. I cycled 45 or so miles before this so I decided not to get myself up the rest of the stairs. I'd easily do it most other days. The top room just appears to be an empty shell.

Skunk House: I had a derp located just further down the road, only to find it was completely burnt down. On the way back up, I found this old house. Once again, the outside showed little promise and inside it was a refurbished shell. The decay has set in and I figured it was worth getting pictures of. The house is only named from the fake Skunk on the tree, The house lives up to it. The smell of mould was overpowering inside.

Thanks for looking.

That's very good. In the Britannia house I saw two key cupboards and a raft of cupboards, I wonder what they kept? A precious collection, maybe? I did wonder why you called it Britannia House until I saw the picture of the toilet, that's a big cistern. The other house looks okay, but I don't have smell-vision.

I'm not so sure myself. It is located in a very unusual position, even for the countryside. I find it easier to name empty shells than ones full of stuff, cos theres usually one thing that stands out.

Britannia cast iron cisterne were a popular choice in its day, given a choice between skunk and mould stink, I'd take the mould, Nicely Done, Thanks

I loved the photo showing the wiring of the electric shower above the bath. Great use of terminal blocks! Ooer

Old business premises of some sort in later life. The original, rather old, up-load onto the web seems to have disappeared, as my bookmark brings up nothing now, and unfortunately I cannot remember the details. As Dauntless knows the location, perhaps that is a better place to start? I do remember that the hinged counter top led to a discussion on 'Take Aways'! My gut feeling, having seen a number of similar structures over the years, is that this was originally the house of the local Estate Manager, at some time being extended and turned into the main offices. An OS map from the period will reveal more. The first aid kit brings back memories - in the early '50's there was always a stall in the old Doncaster Cattle Market stacked high with those things and other ex Gov kit of dubious use.
