Quick visit to this old place with my friend a few weeks back.

Built back in 1806, looks like at one point it would have been a lovely place. Bought by the RBL in 1954, it was in use for over 50 years until it was disbanded in 2004, from what i believe was financial issues. History is very thin on the place so i've only really got info on what i've heard from people i know.

I'd seriously advise avoiding this place however, this is by far the most dangerous building i've been in. Very very unstable as you'll see.

Not a massive amount of photo's of the exterior sadly as me and my friend got spooked so left the place pretty sharpish, few decent ones of the interior bits you can access however.

Entrance, as you can see has been reclaimed by nature.

Upstairs, as you can see it seriously poor condition.

And the rest of the upstairs which has collapsed. Not a nice place.

Wow, that place is just about to fall in itself. I don't think it could be saved, new floors, new ceiling etc. I don't know if I looked at the right building but according to the Coventry Telegraph its for sale at £150K.

Actually what remains of the main building is a very sound Portland Stone structure and would restore - however it is Grade 11 and that certainly puts the dampers on any future plans. HJ you obviously found the right building, but that Coventry Telegraph article was about an upcoming auction sale in July 2016 for the building and the £150K was the auctioneers hoped for outcome. (If I have got the dates correct!) So what happened and what is the present situation?

Hughie; get your money on the table fast! That price for 13 acres of lovely, part wooded land, two lakes and much more - bloody bargain. Clear the later modern rubbish structures out of the way, tidy up the main ruin so it looks like a ruin and not just dereliction and get a nice caravan on the site. I could very happily spend what time I have left living in those surroundings.

Nice to see something just down the road from me. Top job there Deak.

They blockwalled up the main house earlier this year after planning permission was put in for conversion to flats and clearance of the site. As you can see, nothing has changed. Hope this update helps.

You're from my neck of the woods then ;)

I've passed this place every week for the last 3 years while en route to college and have not noticed it once! Yeah it's clear not much is happening with the place, shame really it could be very nice if done properly!
