Had a look round this place, and don’t think I’ve seen this on the forum before. The stables weren’t particularly notable, the inside was a bit empty, but the external was certainly very grand. Quite a bit of pigeon poo on the stairs and bathtub! No history on this one, but the building must be a couple of hundred years old.
Explored on my own.

Sadly the 'modern' monstrosity in the downstairs room spoils the effect; there would have been a beautiful cast iron mantle and grate originally, looking at the re-plastering. These were originally the stables, tack-rooms and grooms lodgings for some large estate or concern - the bricked-in doorway at the bottom of the tower indicates where the carriage was housed. Sadly I have not been able to turn anything up - but somebody knowing the location should be able to find the old estate on an early OS map of the area and hence the original 'large house'. The two stone rosettes on the upper wall obviously contain the Coat of Arms of the original owner of the estate, or are from part of their family.
